All Church Services Cancelled for March

In light of the seriousness of the coronavirus situation, the President recommended people avoid gatherings involving groups of more than 10 people for the next 15 days. The White House has issued guidelines on how each of us can do our part to slow the spread of this virus. For more guidance, please see https://www.cdc.gov. In addition to federal we need to be in compliance with all state and local government orders and guidelines.

In response to these orders and guidelines, we have canceled all church services and church-related gatherings for the month of March. This includes mid-week Bible Study and CFG gatherings. Please spread the word to your family and friends. We plan to revisit this decision in early April and keep you informed.

Below are some resources that may be of help:

Take advantage of this time

  • Pray, Grow, and Serve
    • We should pray for those individuals and families who either are or will be affected by this virus and for their healing.
    • We should pray for the doctors and medical professionals who are on the front lines caring for those who contract coronavirus.
    • We should pray for our leaders in office, including the president, vice president, governors, and local officials as they guide us through this time.
    • We should pray for the church to respond with thoughtfulness, wisdom, and love.
    • We should pray for the continued advance of the Gospel even as this trying time."
  • Take advantage of the extra time to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and reading the Bible. Grow closer with your family, friends, and neighbors. Redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16).
  • Let's use this difficult time as an opportunity to be a witness and glorify God. There will be plenty of opportunities to serve and people may be more receptive to hearing the Gospel now.
  • While abiding within the CDC guidelines above, find creative ways to help those in our church who need assistance with groceries and work around the house. Keep in contact with the elderly and those who are living alone in our church as well as your neighbors in your communities.

Remember, God is in control!

  • We know that God is sovereign and bigger than this coronavirus situation (and every situation)!
  • A crisis like this can carry with it a high level of fear, but thankfully we can celebrate the provision of our Lord who has “…not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control!” (2Tim. 1:7). In this time of fear and anxiety, let's turn to God in faith that He will provide, grant us peace, and see us through.
